Demo days are clearly the big thing of 2004, and quite right too – if you’re thinking of splashing out a sizable chunk of your hard-earned on a bike, you’re going to want to have ridden the thing properly first. Rocky Mountain is taking demos very seriously. Every RM dealer has a couple of demo bikes, but if you want to sample the full range then get yourself along to one of the Rocky Mountain Demo Tour venues:
- Mountain High, Pangbourne (0118 984 1851) – 3 April
- Royles (01625 543440) – TBC
- Rock’n’Road Cycles, Southampton (02380 221022) – 18 April
- 4Play Cycles, Cockermouth (01900 823377) – 24 April
- The Ironhorse Cyclery, Darlington (01325 284500) – 9 May
- BigPeaks.com, Ashburton (01364 654080) – 15 May
- The Hub (0114 234 8191) – 22 May
- Wheelbase, Kendal (01539 821443) – 12 June
- The Bike Shed, Huddersfield (01484 864754) – 19 June
You’ll need to call the associated dealer beforehand to (a) find out where and when the demo actually is and (b) get your name down on whatever it is that you’re interested in. If you’re unfamiliar with the RM range then have a shufti at www.bikes.com (guess who was at the front of the queue when the domain names were handed out?).
