Here’s the new news from the Downhillers down Devon way;

As you are probably aware the Onabike Downhill and Remec SuperCup races scheduled for 24th March and the 1st rounds of the Muddyfox South West Downhill Series scheduled for March 25th have been postponed to yet to be decided dates. If the F&M starts clearing up soon, these will be in April….but we are not holding our breath… VC Loudeac have moved their downhill from March 25th to April 1st but we still hope to go; A detailed itinerary is attached.

The course is short but apparently good, all competitors have 3 runs Sunday and practice Saturday afternoon and for payment of 10FF (approx £1) there is transport. Licences are not compulsory but anyone without needs a medical certificate stating their are fit to take part (small note from your doctor?)… ring if in doubt.

Friday 30th March Depart Plymouth 23:30hrs, Saturday 31st March Arrive Roscoff 06:30hrs, Drive to Hotel Loudeac 08:30hrs, Arrive at Course 12:00hrs, Inspect track 12:30hrs Practice ? Return to hotel ?

Sunday 1st April Practice starts 08:30hrs, Competitive Runs start 10:00hrs, competitors all take 3 runs, Event finishes 15:00hrs, Return to hotel 16:00hrs.
Monday 2nd April day in Brittany, Depart Roscoff 16:30hrs, Arrive Plymouth 21:30hrs.

Includes transport from Plymouth to race and back; and 2 nights hotel accommodation;
Based on 2 people sharing room £187.50 pp, based on 4 people sharing room £167.50 pp.

Self drive including return ferry fare and 2 nights accommodation;
Based on 2 people sharing £ 137.50 pp, based on 4 people sharing £ 92.50 pp, Race entry £tbc.

Transport (in our van) of bike from Plymouth to the hotel and from the hotel to the race and back (for those going by car) £18 per bike. (included in full trip price).

NB 1. This is a very last minute trip so please excuse any rough edges. Please also note that other than those getting there under their own steam, the trip will only take place if their are sufficient numbers.

NB 2. The course is short, winning time last event 1:15..but all competitors take three runs.

NB 3. Participants without a BCF licence will need a medical certificate, stating they are fit to participate.
