The first round of the National Points Series (NPS), originally scheduled
for Thetford on the 24th and 25th March, has been re-scheduled for the same
venue on the weekend of 19th and 20th May. Forest Enterprise have re-opened
the forest, having initially closed it during the early weeks of the Foot
and Mouth crisis. Any NPS entries already received for the Thetford race
will, of course, be valid for the re-scheduled event. Riders who have
entered but can’t make it on the new dates, can claim a full refund by
writing, enclosing an SAE, to “Central Entries, BCF, National Cycling
Centre, Stuart Street, Manchester M11 4DQ. All bikes brought to the venue
must be as clean as possible upon arrival – bikes will be disinfected and
any dirt or grime will slow this process. A couple of extra notes from
promoter Ken Ward – please remember that water is not available on site for
motor homes, and there must be no barbecue cooking of any kind in the
forest. For news of the first downhill NPS round moving from Yorkshire to
Scotland, see article link below.
