We’ve just been given a whisper of a new endurance race which
will happen next year, to cater for those racers who are fed up with 3 laps round
a regular course.
Tentatively titled XXX 99, the race is a 99k challenge around a country estate "down
south" consisting of either 2 x 49.5k or 3 x 33k loops all on private land bringing
in loads of never used track.
This event will be about the challenge with no other sideshows, no huge fun fairs
– just riders and riding.
The entry fee is proposed to be no more than £20 for the full 99k and £12
for the 33k (fun!). The entry will include, T-shirt, camping and other goodies. There
are plans for all the usual nonsense, including a free party on the Saturday night
with a local (good) live band and loads of pasta.
Proposed date is 22/23 September. Mail
us and tell us what you think.
