The British team had good results in the womens roadrace today
in Sydney, with Sara Symington and track bronze medalist Yvonne MacGregor finishing
in the front group, on the same time as the winner. Sara placed 10th, and Yvonne
placed 24th, which numerically, doesn’t sound too good, but at least the girls were
in contention and up at the head of the race, unlike the mtbers the other day…
The race was won by favourite Leontien Zijlaard of the Netherlands [Leontien?? – I guess she thinks "Brant" sounds pretty
funny though – BR] who got her second gold of the games,
having already got a gold and silver on the track so far. She’s also entering the
road time trial on Saturday!
