Middleburn have been tinkering with disc brake designs in collaboration with Dave Cullimore for a while now (remember those twin disc front sets ups from about 1995 that never made it into production?) but orders for other stuff like cranks and aircraft bits keep getting in the way. Allegedly the new brakes be ready to test in October, with samples to look at much sooner, as long as engineer Max stops falling off his motorbike long enough to get to the lathe. We won’t hold our breath.
Meanwhile those of a singular mind might be interested to know that the first production batch of the new 11/8in Uno singlespeed chainring upgrade / downgrade(?) for RS7 cranks have popped fresh from the oven. Perfectly milled and hard anodised for fat chain cosseting but still featherweight as you’d expect from Middleburn. So now you can have single DH, singlespeed, double and triple chainrings to fit to the same RS7 cranks, which will be very handy for indecisive days.
