Litespeed, the Chattanooga based titanium specialists, are finally getting the recognition in the pro peleton that they’ve been striving for.
Litespeed have previously provided ultralight specials and time trial bikes (not
least Lance Armstrong’s old pre OCLV Blade) to teams which were then repainted in the
colours of their official bike supplier. Now Litespeed get to show their
name with pride as the Lotto Adecco team switch from their current GT ZR bikes
(unsurprisingly given GT’s uncertain future) to a full set of Litespeed hardware
for the 2002 season.
Mark Lynskey – Litespeed’s founder and president – told
Bicycle Retailer and
Industry News “We’re extremely excited to provide the Lotto Adecco team
members with our bicycles. We’ve had our titanium frames in the peloton for
years, now we finally get to keep our name on them”.
This contract makes Litespeed the leading titanium supplier to the pro teams. On the mountain bike circuit Ralph Lauren Polo RX mountain bike squad have been riding their bikes for
several seasons now. Lucky bleeders…
