The third running of the Schwinn 100 km mountain marathon will be on 6-7th July, 2002 at Builth Wells, Powys.

As well as the usual event village, pasta party, free camping, feeding stations, finisher T-Shirts etc. next year’s event will also feature a 100km road race the day before, plus proper shower and toilet blocks installed in the camping field. Riders will also be given a minimum survival kit list to make sure there are no repeats of unprepared riders getting into trouble in lousy weather.

As well as title sponsors Schwinn, BIKEmagic.com, Parrot and Powerbar are already confirmed with others to be announced as soon as they sign up.

Schwinn are also hinting at other marathon events elsewhere in the country next year, but details are yet to be confirmed. More news and marathon mumblings as soon as we get wind of them.
