London shop Bikepark would like to welcome Londoners who haven’t heard about it on their winter rides schedule. The regular rides on Saturday and Sunday cater for different riders and abilities.
Running under the motto ‘If we can talk then we are not going hard enough’ is Bikepark’s infamous Saturday Park-Ride chain-gang in Richmond Park. This burn up was inspired by the lack of ‘introductions’ to road racing and serious road-riding that the staff, customers and friends of Bikepark individually experienced over the years. They concentrate on basic group riding skills, and the group is growing each week, with experienced riders mixing in with ‘freshers’ and triathletes.
So if you live in the London area and want to start racing and don’t know where or how to start this is a great introduction. This year seven of the Saturday regulars have made the jump from virtual novice to 4th & 3rd category races at Hillingdon and Eastway. If you’re interested turn up warmed up and ready to rock at Roehampton Gate, Richmond Park 9 AM sharp, with rides lasting about an hour.
On Sundays Bikepark run a much more traditional and relaxed Surrey Hills Ride (club run style) ride in the Surrey lanes with tea stop. These 3 hour runs start from Hampton Court Bridge (South Side) at 9am sharp.
There are also Sunday Bikepark MTB rides planned (weather and enthusiasm permitting) –Talk to Finn at Bikepark Covent Garden or email him at [email protected]. For more information call Phil on 020 7405 2834 or check www.bikepark.co.uk.
