After seven years providing international support for Rock Shox racers, Tim
and Helen Flooks have handed over the keys to the big red and black truck.
Their places are being filled by Tyrone Dines and Giulia de Simone who are
under strict instructions to carry on providing the vital tea and biscuits
support role, as well as looking after any ailing forks and shocks racers
bring them.
The future of the truck was looking doubtful at one point as
racing budgets and venues were cut, but now the role has been expanded to
tutoring and supporting Rock Shox service centres too. This means your local
shop will have more know how, but if you really want the pro touch, Tim is
setting himself up as a master suspension tuner with the ‘TF Tuned Shox’
website going live soon (www.tftunedshox.com).
As Dirk Belling from Rock Shox said; “It will be interesting to see how many
years it will take Tyrone and Giulia
to get to the 260,000 km Tim and Helen put on the truck, as well as servicing about 9,000
forks and rear shox and most important using 15,000 tea bags to make people
feel good!”
