First off apologies to the top half of the island who we entirely missed off our foot and mouth round-up on Friday. The good news is that the majority of Scotland – including the Highlands and Islands – is open all areas again. The bad news is that we can’t find any information on the areas near the borders that are still shut. If anyone can shed some light on this situation we’d be very grateful.
Secondly thanks to James Blair for telling us that certain areas around Montgomeryshire and Welshpool have now been shut again after being open for several months. Apparently it’s a new DEFRA edict that “any FP/BW through a previously infected farm or contiguous cull farm were to be reclosed”. For more information checkout the Powys website.
Please keep the news coming and we’ll have a better idea about where we can and can’t go across the whole country.
