Ever fancied yourself as an MTB film-maker? You’re not the only one. And a bunch of people have got out there and done it, according to the latest missive from the lovely people at Extreme Sports Channel. 24-25 April is Homegrown Weekend, with short films made by viewers being shown between 10am and 12 noon and 2pm to 4pm. The majority of them are MTB films with titles like “Adventures in Loonerland”, “Dirty Girl” and “The Jumps”. As Extreme say, “prepare to be stunned, one way or another”. And who are we to disagree?
April also sees a bunch of more professional efforts, to wit:
- Tuesday 6 April, 7.30pm – Superheroes 2
- Monday 12 April, 7.30pm – Torque 3
- Wednesday 14 April, 7pm – Jib
- Thursday 15 April, 7.30pm – Riders Anonymous
Extreme is also showing the 2003 Fort William World Cup on 2 April at 9.30pm, plus Series 2 of Canadian freeride roadtrip frenzy Drop-In. Take a bunch of top freeriders, stick ’em all in a big bus thing and let them drive a couple of thousand miles in search of fun things to ride. And film it. Can’t be bad – from 17 April, every Saturday and Sunday at 8pm.
