Wow look at this frame! We first saw Ratio’s stunning carbon fibre 29er at Core Bike Show earlier this year, a show stopper of a bike (especially with its claimed 17lb weight).
So when these lovely photos of the frameset arrived in our inbox this morning, we just had to share with you all. The frame weighs just 1.25kg (2.75lbs) in raw, and 1.32kg (2.91lbs) with a lick of paint (for a 17in frame) and achieves that low weight with a frame constructed using a carbon monocoque layup.
The tube profiles alter radically along their length, flowing seamlessly from oval to almost square sections, to allow Ratio to ensure there’s extra stiffness where it’s needed, and vertical give in other areas to provide a little comfort.
Details include a Press-Fit 30 bottom bracket, which allows for some huge diameter chainstays and that large downtube. Up front is a tapered head tube, the dropouts are made from carbon with aluminium protector’s built-in. Disc mounts are the post mount style.
You’ll want a suitable fork for this frame and luckily Ratio offer a lovely rigid carbon fork that will perfectly complement the bold graphics.
