The wait is over. One of the sexiest new bikes of 2012 will soon become available, as Intense Cycles yesterday announced their new Hard Eddie is going into full production.
Intense have worked with SEED engineering to develop one of the lightest frames on the market. At just over 1kg (2lb 7oz) for the frame, it’s as light as many road frames! A realistic build will see a complete weight of 18lbs or thereabouts easily doable – especially with their new carbon fibre rigid fork.
The frame is gorgeous. A curved top tube swoops dramatically from the tapered head tube right through to the dropouts, widening around the extended seat tube to fork a tight rear triangle and loads of standover clearance.
Geometry is running at 70 degrees for the head angle with a 100mm suspension fork fitted, and 72 degree seat angle. Modular dropouts will allow the running of 135mm, 142mm and single speed dropouts. A Press-Fit BB30 bottom bracket and integrated headset complete the details.
Two colours, Naked Red, and Naked, will be offered, with a matching carbon fork.
