We reported recently on the new Rocket 150mm full-susser coming from Cotic cycles, and today they’ve just confirmed prices, starting at £1,350 with a Fox Float RL shock.
Four shocks will be offered, the entry-level Float RL mentioned earlier, a Fox RP23 Kashima for £1,475, a Marzocchi Roco Air LO at £1,400 and the mostly costly of the lot, the BOS Vip’r Custom Tune coming in at £1,580. Currently only air cans are being offered, but coil options will be considered if there is sufficient demand.
Other spec options include a Hope headset for the 44mm head tube at £65, or an extra tenner for the tapered 1.5 – 1 1/8in option.
Solaris 29er soon available
In other news, Cotic’s first ever 29er, the Solaris, takes a step closer to availability. First production frames have landed at Cotic’s Sheffied HQ, and will soon be available mid-February.. Price has been confirmed at £499. The Solaris is based on offering a ride similar to that found on the popular Soul, the frame that pinned Cotic to British riders’ hearts.
Geometry has been adjusted for the bigger wheels and is designed around an 80-120mm fork up front, but the aim is to get a similar handling bike to the 26in-wheeled Soul, despite the differences in wheel size. The frame is made from thinwall air hardened True Temper OX Platinum tubing with a Reynolds 853 Ovalform top tube. The seat tube has been oversized to 35mm and there’s a 44mm head tube up front accepting a zero stack top cup and external bottom cup.
Signature Cotic 4130 cromoly wishbone stays combine with bridge-less S-bend chainstays and there’s clearance for fat tyres, up to 2.4in. Three sizes, 17.5in, 19in and 20.5in, will be available. Frame weight is 4.6lb for 19in.
