Cotic Solaris 29er prototype

Cotic ventures into the world of 29ers with latest frame development
Built up and ready for testing

It seems we can’t open up the Bikemagic email inbox these days without an annoucement of a new 29er bike, and this week it’s the turn of UK brand In other Cotic news, the Hemlock full-susser has now been discontinued.

Released are these photos of the new Solaris 29er hardtail frame which, says Cotic boss and designer Cy Turner, is based on offering a ride similar to that found on the popular Soul. That light steel hardtail frame helped carve Cotic a place in the market for UK trail riders seeking something a little different.

The geometry has been adjusted for the bigger wheels and is designed around an 80-120mm fork up front, but the aim is to get a similar handling bike to the 26in-wheeled Soul, despite the differences in wheel size.

More on this development when we get it…

Hemlock discontinued

In other Cotic news, the Hemlock full-susser has now been discontinued.

“We have now sold out and this is now being taken out of production,” says Cotic. “It was a pretty momentus bike for a little company like ours, as there’s not many brands our size who’d take on designing a full susser from scratch as we did, and we’re very proud of it. It was a pretty unique product with it’s potential for different travel front and rear, different travel rocker links, and as it evolved it became one of the first frames to embrace the new oversized steerer standards.

“We are holding parts in stock for the future to support our customers, so if you a Hemlock owner, you’ll be well looked after as you should expect from Cotic.”
