Specialized Epic S-Works Carbon 29
They may not have been the first to adopt 29in wheels, but Specialized is sure making up for lost time, with one of the most impressive 29er line-ups we’ve yet seen.
What makes it special?
The Epic, a bike first introduced way back in 1996, has had an incredible year on the World Cup cross-country circuit, with Jaroslav Kulhavy racing his 29er version to a world first victory at Dalby Forest, and following that up with a succession of wins.
At its heart is a FACT IS 11m full carbon fibre frame that ensures it is light enough for winning world cup races (which is has done in 2011) with the patented FSR suspension and a horizontally aligned Specialized/Fox remote Mini-Brain inertia-valve shock with Kashima coating.
