The year 2011 saw a 29er win a leg of the UCI Cross-Country Mountain Bike World Cup for the first time, when Jaroslav Kulhavy guided his Specialized S-Works Epic 29er to victory in Dalby Forest.
But when will a rider spinning 29″ wheels stand on top of the downhill podium? This video, a trailer of the 29ROCKS! film, shows 1997 World Championship bronze medallist Cedric Garcia, putting a Santa Cruz Tallboy 29er through its paces. The guys over at Dirt, one of Bikemagic’s sister sites and experts on all things downhill, reckon the Frenchman could rock to the opening round of the downhill World Cup in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa on big wheels.
