Whyte Solstice Challenge 2003

More enduro fun from the Salisbury Plain Area Mountain bikers (SPAM). The Whyte Solstice Challenge is kind of a warm, sunny (hopefully) brother to the legendary Salisbury Plain Challenge. The Whyte Solstice Challenge (15 June 2003, Ludgershall, Wiltshire offers 90, 55 or 35km for all levels of keenness.

The course runs around the east side of Salisbury Plain around the Ludgershall-Tidworth area. “The Whyte Solstice Challenge will take you around some of the most beautiful and desolate areas of Wiltshire, with steep climbs, challenging downhill and technical woodland,” say the organisers. Sounds good to us…

The event is supported by Whyte bikes, run in conjunction with National Bike Week and in support of a number of charities, including Wiltshire Air Ambulance, the Army Benevolent fund, Wiltshire Search and Rescue and Cancer Research UK.

In traditional enduro style, the Whyte Solstice Challenge is timed, but not a race. Entry fee is £15. More info on the SPAMbiking website or via email. Or phone Mark Wadman on 01380 812336.

Similar to the Salisbury Plain Challenge in nature but warmer and drier. We utilise the east side of Salisbury Plain around the Ludgershall-Tidworth area. The Whyte Solstice Challenge will take you around some of the most beautiful and desolate areas of Wiltshire, with steep climbs, challenging downhill and technical woodland. The event is timed but it isn’t a race.
