The Torq Roughride, now just over a month away on Sunday June 12, prides itself on being one of the UK’s most relaxed rides, say the organisers.
There are two Roughride routes on offer – 48km and 75km, with the longer rider packing in approximately 7,000 feet of climbing – based from the tiny market town of Kington, Herefordshire, full of real ale pubs, hunkered down under the eastern edge of Hergest Ridge.
The route boasts considerably less road than any other event in England and Wales as good relations with local landowners allow the organisers to use miles of tracks not normally open to riders on the moorlands of East Radnorshire, Wales.
Entry costs £27 in advance before Friday June 10, or £31 on the day. Head to www.roughride.co.uk for more information.
