Gore Bike Wear TransWales organisers have issued a call for entries ahead of this year’s race, with women particularly wanted to fill the open female pairs category.
The seven-day race, in its sixth year, is limited to 300 riders and takes place between August 13-20, starting and finishing from Builth Wells.
As in previous years, TransWales will run hill climbing, descending and general trail riding stages in order to find the best all-rounders.
“We are looking in particular for more ladies teams to take part in the BUFF open female pairs category,” said the organisers, who have added a Mini TransWales to the line-up, so if you can’t find the time for a full seven-day stage event, the three or four day version will suit you.
“It would be great to get some more teams into that one so that the category is simply more fought over. So maybe try to talk your female riding buddies into giving it a go.
“There is a prize fund of more than £10,000 in products and cash to be won – so don’t miss out on this great opportunity.”
