If you’ve always found the daylight half of 24 hour races a bit dull, then the Marin Dusk til Dawn might be the event for you. It’s a mere 12 hours long, but runs from 8pm to 8am and thus takes place almost entirely in darkness.
Interested? Make plans quick, because it’s next weekend (20/21 September). The course takes in the legendary singletrack of Thetford Forest, and by way of an added incentive event sponsors Marin will have a selection of 2004 bikes for you to prod at and maybe even take for a spin. Plus the first 400 people to be “really nice” to the staff in the Marin area will receive a can of 3-in-One with PTFE handy lubricant spray free, gratis and indeed for nowt.
There are still places available for solo or team competitors, so head on over to www.marindusktildawn.co.uk for the entry form…
