If you’re planning to go to the final Kona 100 (20/21 September, Ruthin, Wales) then you’d better have entered – entry has now closed at an impressive 1,000 entries. Any entries received today will have got in, any received later won’t. Later entries may not receive confirmation before the event – if your cheque’s gone through, you’re in, but if you want to check call organiser John Lloyd on 01982 552923.
John’s been on a last-minute course recce, and says that it’s roughly 10% road, 30% bridleway, 20% forest tracks and 40% singletrack, with 1,000m of climbing on the short course and 2,000m on the long course. Proper knobblies and Crud Catchers are recommended.
There’ll be no entries on the day, so if you haven’t got an entry don’t show up. If you’ve missed out, fear not – there’ll be more next year…
