Swiss racing legend Thomas Frischknecht has finally updated from the custom built steel Ritchey bikes he’s been riding for the past 11 years.
He’ll still be riding for Team Ritchey / Yahoo, but the focus will be on Ritchey / SRAM components mounted on Scott USA frames. Scott will be building a new Scandium hardtail frame but Frischy will also probably be using the ultralight, carbon mainframed G-Zero Strike full suspension bike. Remarkably this will weigh in significantly lighter than his previous steed and be a whole lot stiffer than the pencil stay Ritchey to boot.
Unfortunately Frischy won’t be riding either any time soon, as he’s had to have surgery on his hand and wrist following a training crash and will miss the season openers at Sea Otter and Napa valley.
If you fancy checking out one of the most supple and subtle bikes on the planet head for the Ritchey Logic website , but if cutting edge materials and design is where you’re at you’ll be wanting Scott USA.
For those of you who find spec sheets and profile shots less than informative, you’ll also be pleased to know that we’ll be reviewing the Scott G-Zero Strike on BikeMagic very shortly, and if you behave we’ll even try and stick a mini test of the old Ritchey P22 in with it. Who says we’re not good to you!
