You may or may not have been paying attention to the debate over the work being done to Roych Clough, but I have been doing my best to present the point of view of MTB riders in a way which will earn the respect of those who make the decisions. It appears to have worked to a certain extent, and I’ve been asked to join the list of statutory consultees for the Peak District within Derbyshire. This august body is consulted anytime major works are planned on public rights of way, for example the work on Roych Clough.
The local authority are looking for people to cover other bits of Derbyshire, including Bolsover, North East Derbyshire, Chesterfield, Erewash, South Derbyshire, the Amber Valley and so on. If anyone’s interested, get in touch – you can send me a mail via the member page (click on the author’s name at the top of the story).
If you’re outside Derbyshire, it may be possible to put you in touch with the relevant bodies if you want to do your bit – all local authorities have a list of people and groups who are automatically consulted whenever changes are proposed.
