Schwinn Downhill Cup

Dave Wardell was the subject of a dodgy timing decision and
ended up 8th with Matt Farmer 15th and Tyronne Rumbelow improving into a respectable
24th.

The downhill was followed by the main event of the weekend – the 2nd ever Swatch
Biker-X.

The tired looking Brits still managed to show the home crowd the way and Dave Wardell,
Matt Farmer, Martin Ogden and Robin Rumbelow all made the quarters.

Robin and Matt just missed out on the semis and it was left to team 24\7 rider Ogden
and MBUK`s Wardell to fly the flag.

Martin suffered a blown inner tube whilst in second but Dave kept it smooth to make
the big finale.

The highlight of the evening was seeing Dave taking the inside line on the final
turn to block the second place rider and grab a superb second place behind the Dominant
German Markus Klausman.

2500 swiss francs richer and wearing a rather snazzy looking Swatch Dave also somewhat
bizarrely was the recipient of a free paragliding lesson.

Look out for the Biker-X action soon on Eurosport Yoz and pay good attention to the
final turn where you might just see the rear end of one or two British pros (no names
but you might just recognise them anyway.

Freestyle moto-x followed and everyone is looking forward to the Plymouth Biker-x
at Bike Live in August.

If you`re in Switzerland tonight and if you can make it to Laax before closing time
the Drinks are on Dave.
