There’s a thread running on the forum about this already but we thought we’d best bring news of this Wiltshire winter warmer out front where you can all see it.
The 10th Salisbury Plain Challenge is following its usual tank track based course on December 30th, and here’s some details courtesy of www.Numplumz.com
“The 10th Salisbury Plain Challenge – one of Britain’s biggest off-road cycle events. Ride over the Army training grounds for charity
1300 turned up at the last event of 1999 and raised over £19,000 for the
childrens’ charity.

Event tips:
The 50 km course sees most of the hard work in the first half of the
ride – tons of tank tracks and good ol’ grassy hills mixed in with hard
surface tracks.
The leisure riders will have time to take in the fantastic scenery, the
burnt out tanks, bombed out villages and check out those danger signs.
Come well prepared for the leisure rides, it is a bit isolated in some
areas. A good waterproof is recommended
Drink station available
The many tank tracks (Mind those unexploded bombs!) mean there’s
some really deep and very muddy puddles to get through
The 38/25 km courses are mostly on hard tracks, but all start and finish
at the same place Erlestoke.
There should be an entry form on the event site as soon as it appears but entry on the day will also be available. More details as soon as we can find them, or someone sends them to us!
