Riders are asked to avoid the Greno and Wharncliffe area of Sheffield on May 14-15 due to an orienteering event.
South Yorkshire Orienteers are hosting the British Long and Relay Orienteering Championships, a world ranking event, in Wharncliffe and Greno Woods on the Saturday and Tankersley Forest on the Sunday.
“Runners will be racing around the woods of Greno and Wharncliffe from 11am-5pm on May 14 and it would be great if downhillers could avoid trails in this area for one day only – particularly Greno and the southern half of the slope at Wharncliffe,” said Sustrans’ Henry Wood.
“Anyone is welcome to come along to the British Championships and there will be courses suitable for beginners and families available to enter on the day and a string course for younger kids – where they literally follow the string – which is free to enter.”
