More news from the organisers of the ProCup series of team-based XC events. They’ve completed the courses for the two races at Mapledurham, near Reading, Dirtworker and Crank Brothers have joined the sponsorship roster and, perhaps most importantly, entries for the series are now open.
The first event of the series is on 15 April at Bardolph’s Wood, Mapledurham. You’ll need to be able to form a team of three to battle it out in a conventional XC race at 10.30am followed by a knock-out short course relay at 2.30pm. Points will be awarded for performance in both stages and prizes (a three-figure cash pot for the overall winners and product from sponsors Felt Bikes, Crank Brothers, Dirtworker, Lizard Skins, 1st Gear Cycles and Muc-Off) awarded accordingly.
We’re told that the Bardolph’s Wood course features some super fast singletrack and bombholes. And as an added bonus the ground is very well drained so will stay largely dry regardless of the April weather.
The other two dates in the ProCup series are 16/17 June at Chazey Woods, Mapledurham and 8/9 September at Chawton Park Woods, Alton, Hants. These are both two-day events featuring a barbecue, live music, hot showers and camping.
Entry forms are available from www.pro-cup.com.
