Peak District trail meeting

The Dark Peak Bridleway Association meets on the first Wednesday of the month in the Sycamore pub on Sycamore Road in Birch Vale, just outide of Hayfield. Normally meetings begin at 8.30, however this month’s meeting (Wednesday 3rd September) will start at the earlier time of 8pm as they have arranged a guest speaker.

DPBA have previously successfully applied for a few trails to be upgraded to bridleway status, most notably the “shooting cabins” track above hayfield which was upgraded in the 1980s. Hoping to continue in this vein, they have arranged for Sue Hogg of the Pennine Packhorse Trust to come over and give a small presentation on the work involved in upgrading trails based on historic evidence.

Being mainly horse riders, DPBA are keen to see more MTB riders coming along and joining in as we do share common aims. If you can come along, please do!
