The ongoing will-they-won’t-they saga of The Flying Scotsman, the planned biopic of unconventional track champ Graeme Obree, has taken another turn with the announcement that filming has been cancelled. The project needed additional funding to be able to start filming on November 15 so that they could finish before the end of the tax year, but the extra money hadn’t been found.
“I’m hoping the project can be resurrected in the Spring,” first assistant director Tommy Gormley told bike industry website bikebiz.co.uk. The cancellation is a real blow, not least to Obree himself who was involved in writing the screenplay.
