With storms lashing the area earlier this week, the course is looking rather bedraggled and sorry for itself, but the show will go on.

The course will definitely be clear in time – if a little damp – but if you were planning to camp, the organisers suggest you bring a houseboat as the field is sodden. Otherwise call the local tourist information (01584 875053) and see if you can find drier vacancies.

The organisers would also like to point out that the access road to the venue is very narrow but there are passing points so keep you racing urges to your riding. High vehicles also need to beware low branches. before anyone starts griping about this remember that the event was looking like a complete foot and mouth no-go not long ago, so be thankful you’ve got a championships at all!
