Frenchman Laurent Jalabert won last week’s Clasica San Sebastian with a powerful performance in the final few kilometers and out sprinted breakaway companions David Rebellin and Fransisco Casagrande. Erik Dekker’s lead is now down to just 73 points over Rebellin and the Dutchman will have to produce a good result at the Hew Classic this weekend to retain his leaders jersey.
