A few of you have emailed in to point out to us that the UCI have said on their website that "all the anti-doping controls
carried out during the 2000 Tour de France have proved negative for banned substances".
Clearly this is at odds with the statement from the CPFD that we reported this morning
(see link below).
We speculate (and it is speculation) that it all comes down to different testing
methods by different organisations. The CPFD is probably using the method which the
UCI has refused to use until it is approved by the International Olympic Committee.
they will then use this method on the frozen samples they took during the tour.
However that’s all a bit vague, so we’re working on it.
