Member reviews, BIKEmagic reviews and articles, forum discussions, brands and secondhand gear: you can find all sorts of kit information through the member review system. Here’s how to:
1. Find relevant reviews
On the main page there’s a list of all the different categories of products we have in the system. Click on the one you are interested in and you will be shown a list of all the products in that category.
To help find and compare products you can re-sort the products by: name, the number of member reviews written, price and rank.
Click on a product name to read the member reviews of that product.
2. Write your review
Find the product you want to review in the same way as above (1.) and scroll down to the end of the member reviews. At the end of the reviews there is a box for you to add your own review*. Follow the links below the box to read how to choose rankings and write reviews and click here to read examples of quality reviews.
*Please note: You can only post a review if you are a validated member of BIKEmagic and are logged on. If you are not already a member click here to join, it only takes a couple of minutes.
3. Find other relevant information about a product or category
:- We say
Alongside the member reviews we’ve linked together what we have to say about a product or category, be that BIKEmagic reviews, buyer’s guides or maintenance articles. Click on the ‘We say’ tab to find out, well, what we have to say about it. Here are a couple of examples: the Freestyle sprinter jacket and Monday Maintenance on chains.
:-Discuss
Another useful source of information is the kit forum. Under the ‘Discuss’ tab we’ve linked up relevant forum discussions to products and categories, the Cannondale Aragos are one example.
You can also start a new discussion or ‘thread’ linking from a product or category.
You can only post messages if you are a member of BIKEmagic, click here to join, it only takes a couple of minutes.
4. Find a secondhand ad
Whenever a member submits an ad to the secondhand section they have the option of linking their ad to the member review system. If a member chooses to do this then the product in the member section list of products will have this icon next to it, which links through to the ad in the secondhand section. There’s also a link to the ad on the product page.
5. Find out about a brand
Every brand featured in the review section now has its own page that lists its products and any relevant articles and forum threads. Take a look at the Cateye page as an example, or search for any brand you like.
