We’ve all been in those “nah it doesn’t look that deep” situations but here’s a cautionary tale for regular bog hoppers.
OutdoorsMagic.com report that a 50 year old Scottish walker has just been rescued from a highland bog after being there for 4 days. He was discovered by a farm worker and rushed to hospital to be treated for hypothermia after being waist deep in the mire for days.
So, don’t go diving headlong into everything – espescially if you’re on your own – and we know it sounds a bit lame, but leave at least vague details of where you’re going with someone (or even your car dashboard) in case you don’t come back.
Either that or ride with a rubber ring round your belly!
