The development of MTB trails at Laggan, Strathspey, Scotland is gathering momentum – Forestry Commission Scotland have submitted planes for 14km of new trails in the Auchduchil woodland to the planning authorities.
The proposed development includes a 6.3km intermediate route, a 6.4km advanced route and a 1.4km “fun park” suitable for all ages.
In the works is a plan for a new visitor centre including toilets, showers, a cafe and bike hire and repair facilities.
Inverness Forest District manager David Jardine commented, “It’s great to be able to submit this plan because it means that we remain on schedule to ensure that people are out using the course by next summer. We always had it in mind that mountain biking would be well situated at Laggan, because it has superb slopes and views out from the woodland. We hope that this site will become well established in
mountain-biking circles, adding to those already found in the Highlands at Fort William and linking well with our aspirations for one in the Aviemore area.”
