Kona’s UK distributors, Paligap, have been busy reinforcing their motorsport links by inking a deal with steely-eyed Superbike racer, Carl Fogarty and his new team, Foggy Petronas Racing. The Canadian brand already have a strong relationship with Ford Motorsport and ex-World Rally Champion, Colin McRae, and now they have expanded their cross-over appeal by teaming up with the most famous road racer of recent years. The deal provides Special Edition Fogarty Petronas Racing Konas, along with standard Kona King Kikapu to the team as pit transport and training tools. Kona hope that the association will attract some of the legions of Superbike fans onto human powered two-wheelers.
Russ Carty of Kona said: “This is an great partnership for Kona, we are reaching another world of two wheelers. This association is in addition to Kona’s support of Colin McRae and since we are producing a range of limited-edition Colin McRae bikes, we may look at producing a limited run of FPR Kona bikes next year”.
