There’s now only just over a week to go before the third Mountain Bike Marathon hits Builth Wells on the weekend of the 6th and 7th July and Kona have been in touch to send all entrants and would-be entrants a final update.

“The entries have almost reached the 1,400 mark and John at Builth Wells Cycles is still getting heaps of entry form requests every day. With only a few days to go the late deciders really have to hurry up, but if you download the entry form straight off this site and send it on to John you will grab one of the last places.

There will be entry on the day but we can’t guarantee at this stage that everybody turning up on Saturday or Sunday will get a ride. For all the ones who have already entered please make sure that you bring the following things:

• 
  Emergency tools and spares so that in the event of technical problems you will be able to make it to the next service station where the Halfords crew will help you with your repairs.
• 
  Enough water and sufficient food so that you can easily manage the distances between the service stations where High5 provide refreshments.
• 
  Even with summer making an appearance at the moment please don’t forget that you are riding across the Welsh Hills where the weather can change quickly and drastically – so wind/waterproof clothing would be a good idea.

Kona have just informed us that, together with Clark Cables, they are going to offer a full cable strip and replacement for all Kona riders – so make sure you pop round the Kona truck over the weekend.

That is our last update from the KONA 100 before the race in Builth Wells. We hope to see you all there and in glorious sunshine. But whoever can’t make it to the Builth Wells event, remember that there’s always ‘the sequel’ in Rhayader on the 31st August – 1st September.
