The Kona 100 ‘The Sequel’ went off last weekend with fantastic weather having left the trails in perfect riding condition.
The event combined a great Welsh location, in Rhayader, with solid organisation and nice bunch of people taking part, many of whom made the most of the bar set up for Saturday evening.
Organisers admitted that the course was tough, the fastest times were same as the Kona 100 of July but given the contrasting course conditions you’d have expected them to be quite a bit faster. Luckily that was where the two-lap set-up proved to be a good idea, as it offered more flexibility: Quite a few people decided after the first loop to settle with doing the 60k. Judging from the response of participants so far it seems to have been a really enjoyable weekend, if you were there feel free to chip in with your thoughts on the forum thread below.
Here’s a few pics of the day and links to the full set of results at the bottom.
