Talk at the moment is all Bull, but there’s loads of other stuff happening this summer so there’s no need to feel left out. Coming up on July 7th is the Kona 100, there’s already well over 1,000 entrants but there’s room for more if you haven’t already got round to it.
In case you don’t know what the event is, it’s a one-loop, 100 km off-road race around the trails and woodlands at Builth Wells (Wales). There’s also a 50 km version for the less fit/keen. There’s
free camping, free parking, a pasta party, free food/service stations around the course, finisher T-shirt and lots more.
The set up in Builth Wells has been changed a bit since we last mentioned it. This year it’s based on a farm just above and behind the field where it was last year and instead of the big tent, they’re building a massive hall that’s about double the size, so even if the weather is as dodgy as last year, there’ll be more of the event village under shelter.
As in previous years the entry fee is £25, click right here for the entry form. If you want a printed version of the entry form then send an SAE to:
The KONA 100, F.A.O. John Lloyd,
Builth Wells Cycles, Smithfield Road,
Builth Wells, Powys LD2 3AN.
Or call 01982 552923 or fax 01982 551110 for further details.
If you can’t make that event then there’s another Kona 100, “The Sequel” in September, check this article for the details.
