First we miss his phenomenal tenth place at the weekend’s World Cup when we’re scuttling through the results on Monday morning, now we call him “Boy Wonder” when he’s actually 19.
Chances are he won’t speak to us ever again, but congratulations to Liam Killeen on his stunning result and we’ll try and get an interview with him as soon as he’s back home. The last time we spoke to him he said, “I’m looking forward to the Durango race as it’ll be interesting to see how I go at altitude. I’m learning with every race and if I do well at Durango I’ll be looking for a good result at the Vail Worlds in September.”
“I’d be doing well to beat Martinez or Green but a place on the podium would be great.”
Keep watching this space (and thanks to Martyn at the Newnham 90 for pointing out our obvious mistake).
