North Wales rider Roger Hughes reports that the MTB trail in Gwydyr Forest, near Betws y Coed, has been temporarily closed due to the storms over the weekend. High winds have brought down a number of trees across the trail and a number of other trees are in danger of falling. Forest managers are requesting riders, walkers and equestrians to stay away from the forest while heavy machinery goes in to clear up. We’re told that 90% of the trail will be open for the weekend, but it’s a good idea to call before travelling – you can find contact details on the Gwydyr Forest website.
We’re not currently aware of any other trail closures, but if you’re planning to travel to any forestry areas in the next few days we’d suggest a quick phone call first…
