From: www.zulusports.com Colombian Jairo Humberto Zapata on Saturday climbed the 943 stairs of Bogota’s tallest building without touching a foot to the floor, breaking his previous Guinness record. Zapata, who used a mountain-bike weighing eight kilograms (about 18 lbs), took just over 43 minutes to climb the 44 floors. The previous record of 747 stairs, established in May 1999, was set in just under 26 minutes. Zapata, who is a journalist, told reporters he wants to accomplish the deed of climbing a 60 or 70-story building in the future. |
