RAV 4 Rnd 3 Results

Fresh from his silver medal at the World Championships, Steve Peat turned in
a typically smooth performance to maintain his 100% record in the three RAV4
Downhills this year. Steve put nearly six seconds into the rest of the field
down the re-modelled Builth Wells course and with his nearest challengers
for the series, Matt Farmer and Rob Jarman, both finishing outside the top
five, the Sheffield rider now has a commanding lead. Robin Kitchen turned in
an excellent ride to finish second, just ahead of Tim Ponting, who is
showing signs of returning to his old consistent self. Ed Moseley moved into
third place in the series with a solid sixth place.

It was a good day all-round for the Moseley clan with Tracy picking up her
second successive win in the Women‚s series and, with it, the lead in the
series standings. World Championship medallists Helen Gaskell and Fionn
Griffiths both had off days, finishing fourth and sixth respectively. It was
left to Adele Croxon and Anja Rees Jones to challenge Tracy and Adele nearly
pulled off a spectacular win, finishing only six tenths of a second down.

In the Cross-Country Scott UK‚s Oli Beckingsale was in fine form and took
his second career RAV4 victory by over two and a half minutes from Paul
Lasenby. Nick Craig finished third and moved into second in the series.
Barrie Clarke showed he is on the way back to fitness after his wrist injury
with 6th place, enough for him to hang on to the series lead.

In the Women‚s race Louise Robinson continued her good form winning her
third successive RAV4 race and extending her lead in the series to a massive
37 points over second and third placed Sadie Parker and Jenny Copnall, both
on 38 points.
