Fort William World Cup website launched

The Fort William leg of the 2002 Mountain Bike World Cup now has its website up and running, and rather swish it is too.

The site covers everything you need to know about the event on the first weekend in June: what’s happening and when, how to get there, where to stay and booking tickets. There’s also a news section which should be updated with the latest information. Navigation is pretty clear, though if anyone can get those arrows at the top to do anything you’re more technically gifted than us.

If 25 quid seems a bit steep to you for a weekend pass but you still want to go, you might be interested to know that the organisers are looking for volunteers to help out at the event. Apparently a large number of volunteers are needed, both with event experience and without but, organisers say, “Everyone must be prepared to work long hours whatever the weather conditions and carry out all tasks as directed by group leaders.” So it won’t be for everyone.
