The Freeride Mountain Bike World Tour schedule has been announced, with 2011 set to kick-off with the Vienna Air King.
The FMB World Tour made its bow in 2010 and has expanded to 21 events in Europe and North America. Diamond and gold events will be equally distributed between the two continents. Take a look at the full schedule by linking on the image on the left.
The tour finale will take place in Nuremberg, with, after a five year break, the much-awaited return of the Red Bull District Ride to decide the the FMB World Tour champion.
Riders will be able to collect points at every event, with the number of points available determined by the event’s category.
As opposed to last year, when riders could take the points from their top four events to the ranking, this year, the rider’s five best event results count.
Events are divided into bronze, silver, gold and diamond categories depending on a number of criteria such as difficulty level, course design, prize money and judging.
Points will only count if the rider is a registered member of the FMBA – so if you want your results to count towards the overall FMB World Tour ranking don’t forget to register before the tour’s first event.
