Round one of the 2011 RapidRacerProducts Midlands XC Series takes place at Cannock Chase on Sunday March 20, with the event already 70 per cent full on pre-entries alone.

The race is based in the Tackeroo area of Cannock Chase, a spectator friendly clover leaf course with hard-standing car parking and on-site water.

Local riders from RapidRacerProducts and Cycle Shack recently previewed the course and found they could still blast round on summer tyres despite overnight rain.

Comments indluded: “Great course, combines a little bit of everything”, “Killer climb at the halfway point – that’s gonna hurt on the last lap!”, “Cool technical sections that you can attack and get a 20 second gap on riders” and “Dood fun, time for another lap before coffee and cake at the cafe.”

Race length will be determined by the category entered, with elite riders doing six laps and juvenile riders completing two laps. Each lap is expected to take 20-25 minutes.
