Fancy training at high altitude?

Medics researching the effects of high altitude on the human body are planning an expedition to Everset Base Camp, that’s 17225ft above sea level.

The 23 day expedition will include monitoring volunteers training on exercise cycles to learn about physiological changes to the human body when dealing with low levels of oxygen. This is to learn more about how doctors can improve care for patients in critical care wards where low levels of oxygen is a universal problem.

There are 10 places for volunteers at a cost of £2,395, this includes return flights from the UK to Kathmandu and a £500 contribution to scientific research.
