It is ljust over 1 week to go before the final round of the series will get started at the Rugby Club in Ruthin. On Saturday (16th September 2006) the event will officially begin with the opening of the registration at 12 (noon) pm. The registration will stay open till 8pm and will be followed by the traditional prize draw of the Merida bike. Please make sure you are present when we draw the winner as you can only win the bike if you are there! The registration will reopen on Sunday morning from 7am – 9am followed by the start of the final round at 9.30am. Please note that the start is 30 minutes earlier than usual due to the days getting shorter. Our friends from the North Wales Mountain Bike Association (www.nwmba.org.uk) have been sending us great reports on new sections they managed to add to the various courses. We will give you more on the weather developments and course conditions nearer the time.
As at all the other 2006 events we will have 4 different course lengths. The full course is approx. 91km long has 4 feeding stations (approx: 27, 44, 57 and 77km) and has approx. 3000m of climbing in it. The middle course is approx. 72km long has three feeding stations (approx: 27, 40, 51km) and has approx. 2350m of climbing. The half marathon (approx. 55km long and 1550m climbing) has two stations at approx. 20 and 42km and the Mini marathon is roughly 30km long climbs just over 1000m and has a feeding station at 20km. Please be aware that all these distances are approximate and could vary due to weather or other unforeseen changes.
